I must admit I wanted to be a tomboy as a kid. Thought my big brother and Dad hung the moon, as they say. Recently J has wanted to wear her big brother C2's socks that Grandmama bought him. Today she was wearing his clothes and now his pjs! Hmmmm. I've heard her say, let's pretend we're brothers.... I'm all for pretending but I also want her to value and appreciate that God created her to be all girl! So, I've been telling her I want her to be thankful and excited she's a girl, not something she isn't. Up until about 10 or so years ago I always thought men had it so easy! :-) If only..... I've changed my tune! I now wouldn't want that roll. Men carry a heavy load and responsibility in the calling God intends for them. So I encourage you ladies out there to pray and encourage the men in your life. One of the blogs I follow has a great link to a prayer calendar for your children and husband. If you don't have a husband or children, I'm sure there are some connections in your life that could use the prayers!

Sunday
Colossians 4:12b He always prays earnestly for you, asking God to make you strong and perfect, fully confident that you are following the whole will of God.
To completely follow the "whole will of God." My hearts desire is to follow the whole will of God, and I pray that for others as well. What does it mean to you?
What a great start to the week. I woke up early, had some quiet time with God, exercised with the kettlebell work out my Mom got me (thanks Mom). Got kitchen cleaned up a bit, and started on breakfast. The whole family was sleeping, except the dog, Buddy, and I'm sure the fish were up. When everyone was up we had a nice breakfast, family church, and just enjoyed each other.
Christopher and I took naps on the couch while the kids whispered to each other to be quiet :-) Now we're making two batches of icecream (vanilla in our new one from Uncle Matt and Aunt Jennifer, (thanks!) and chocolate in our $2 find at the Re-store (thanks Caleb!). Also, are trying our first knock off on Hardshell.
3/4 cup coconut oil
1 cup chocolate chips
Melted on stove...cool down...and ready to serve!
Now on to making chicken wings for supper.

Summer Dresses
Nature Center
My first official blog post! I've been thinking about doing this for awhile and decided to try it for awhile! The kids and I met some friends and went to the Nature Center this week. We did the long two mile hike, played in the creek for awhile, and had a snack. I imagine all the running the kids did most of them got more like 2.5 miles in of exercise! Beautiful day enjoying God's creation.
